Support your wellbeing with yoga this Autumn

❤️ To our beloved YCP members ❤️

How are you embracing this new fall season? With a forecast ahead of chillier, rainier days, Yoga Club Paris is very grateful to be offering more and more indoor class options. 🧘‍♀️

Anu’s Evening Flow in the 15th will bring light to your Monday, Ellen’s Explore & Restore in the Marais warms up the body with a power flow then relaxes it with restorative poses, and Jacqueline’s Vinyasa in the 1st is by donation this Saturday October 15th! 🌆

For many of us, though, fall can be a challenging time of year. Shorter days, colder weather, and busy schedules can take a toll on our mental health. 🙏

October 10th celebrates a day of mental health awareness, and part of why we love doing what we do is because yoga can have such wonderful effects for our mental, spiritual, and emotional states. 🍁

As we move deeper into fall, we have three yogic tips for those days that are a little tougher: 🌬️

  • Mind Body Connection : Practice scanning the body from the toes to the crown of the head, focusing your awareness on the individual muscles, joints, and parts of the body. The more we are able to explore and connect with how the body is feeling, the better we are able to know what it needs to be taken care of.

  • Pranayama : Breathing techniques can be immensely helpful in maintaining calm in the mind when we’re overwhelmed with our day to day life. Try the box breath, a great way to relieve anxiety and help fall asleep. Inhale for four counts, hold the breath for four counts, exhale for four counts, hold for four counts. Repeat.

  • Meditation : But I don’t have five extra minutes to meditate. Meditation boosts concentration, energy, and a sense of calm. When you take those five extra minutes, you’re setting yourself up to have a more productive and less stressful day. Those five extra minutes, or ten or three, are an investment that allows you to improve your overall mood. Sit in a comfortable seat, close your eyes, and try to maintain your focus on your breath for five minutes.

Every season is important, and these tools work wonders all year round. But as we move towards days that might pose a deeper challenge to your mental health, we encourage you to try out one (or all three!) of these tips, strengthening those mind muscles for when you need them on future winter days. 🍂

And of course you can come practice them with us on the mat, check out our schedule here : yogaclubparis.fr/booking 🤸‍♀️

Have a wonderful day,

Your YCP Team
